New tool for GIS developers: Identify streams easily
Planning to develop a new tool for GIS developers which would render up a map which shows the streams which might be caused due to a rain. This may be added as an extension to the GRASS GIS. Discussions have been already done. This funtion would first be ported to the raster modules of GRASS. The input of this function is expected to be the Digital Elevation Model. Suggestions always welcome to geohackers.in [at] gmail.com
Harness AI for GIS
Artificial Intelligence can play a great role in churning out information from a large pool of data which are correlated on multiple levels. A first review of literature revealed that incorporating AI into GIS is a promising area to work on. It has been decided to use FOSS tools for the project. A few tasks ahead are 1. Understanding GRASS 2. Tweak GRASS modules. 3. Formulate a problem. Details and discussions regarding the project will be posted here. We would be happy to hear your suggestions and comments on our effort. Please be kind to mail us at geohackers.in {at} gmail.com
